New Halloween Tutorial ~ Are You Afraid?

This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidence. 
Supplies Needed:
Corel PSP X2 or any version will do.
 My supplies HERE
includes my mask, background
 but I cannot supply the blackwidow spider as it came with the tube

Background image of choice or the one I used, supplied
EyeCandy 4.0 ~ Glass
Xenoflex 2 ~ Lightning
Animation shop

Open up a new transparent image 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill white.  With your preshape tool, foreground black, fill null, draw a circle 25 pixels wide, to an approx size of 500 x 500.
 Center to canvas.  Convert to raster layer.
Using EyeCandy 4.0 ~ Glass ~ settings bevel 10.8, smoothness 75, inside marquee, darkening 30, gradient 35, refraction 50, opacity 0,
tinting 50, color green 00c800 ~ Lighting 135, inclination 45, brightness 100, sz 40, highlight color white, thickness 0, width 72
click OK
Resize halloween scrap paper 14 ~ 500 x 500 pixels. Copy.
Using magic wand, click inside black frame ~ expand by 5,  paste paper as new layer, invert selection, delete, sharpen ~ do not deselect
Arrange ~ move layer down below frame layer on layer palette.
Copy background image of choice or mine supplied. Add new raster layer to working copy and paste image into selection, select none. Sharpen. Drop opacity of this layer to 50%.
Back to frame layer, duplicate. On original frame layer, Adjust Blur ~ Glaussian Blur ~ radius 20.
Effects ~ Texture Effects ~ Blinds ~ With 2, Opacity 50 ~ color 800000 ~ Horizontal & light on top UNchecked
Repeat blind effect with same setting except Horizontal checked.
Add tube of choice.  Dropshadow of choice. I used Lokas Software ~ 3D Shadow.
Open Halloween Paper 04, resize to 600 x 600. Copy.  Paste on layer above White background.
Open my mask supplied, minimize.  Layers ~ new mask layer ~ find Chasmask2 ~ Ok. Delete mask, merge group.
Resize this masked layer 95%.
Click on top duplicate frame layer.
Open wordart ~ resize 25% ~ dropshadow 1,1,100,1 blur, white ~ copy 'n place as desired
 
 Add your copyright, watermark and name. Font I used is Weimar Regular which can be found by googling.
I used color 800000 ~ dropshadow 1,1,100, 1blur, black
 
Animation:
In PSP, delete white background layer.  Copy merged ~ paste in A/S as new animation
Back to PSP
On layer of moonlight background image, select all ~ select float/defloat ~ Add a new raster layer for your lightning effect with following settings:
 
Xenoflex 2 ~ lightning ~ Flash size 50, width 71, opacity 73, glow white, outer color d3fbff
arc thickness 16, jaggedness 92, branching 90, branch spread 36
Click OK...invert selection and delete. Select none.
Copy merged and paste in A/S after current frame.
Back to PSP, undo, undo, undo lightning effect ~ hit random seed and add lightning.  Click OK.
invert selection and delete.  Select none.  Set the opacity of this lightning layer to Soft Light.
Copy merged and paste in A/S after current frame.  You should have a total of 3 frames in A/S.
Click on frame 1 ~ set frame property to 200.
Click on frame 2 ~ set frame property to 45.
Frame 3 will remain at 10.
View animation. If satisfied, select all, change animation properties to white opaque background. Optimize.
Save as a gif and you're done!
