New Tutorial ~ NOEL


This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 Corel PSP X2 or any version will do.
 Tubes of choice, preferable one being an image.
  I am using the artwork of Angela Newman. You can purchase a license to use her work at AMI.
FTU mini-kit called Noel en Or by Cajoline Scrap found HERE Thank you! ♥
Mask2 (Starry Night) by Vaybs found HERE Thank you Vaybs! ♥
Plugin: EyeCandy5 ~ Impact ~ Glass
Optional plugin:  Xenoflex 2 ~ Constellation
Animation shop
 Font used for name is VIP.
 
 
 * * * * *
 
1. Open a new transparent image 675 x 550 pixels.
 Open all the NOEL blocks, resize approx. 85%. Arrange. Merge visible. D/S 1/1/50/4 blur, color #404040.
Add a new raster layer, move to bottom and flood fill white.
Add another raster layer, selections ~ select all.
Open paper4, copy 'n paste into the selection. Selections none. Sharpen.
Open mask, minimize. Layers ~ new mask layer ~ from image ~ source luminance & invert mask are both checked. Apply.
Merge group.
 
2. Open white christmas tree, resized 80%. C/P as a new layer above your masked layer.
Erase the bottom base of the tree that extends beyond the NOEL blocks.  D/S with a light setting or 1/1/45/5 blur color #404040.
Open floral arrangement (element 9), C/P as a new layer above tree but below the NOEL blocks.
 
3.  Open gold frame, resize 50%. C/P. Image ~ rotate ~ 10 degrees to right.
Using magic wand, click inside center of frame ~ modify selections ~ expand by 4.
Open image of choice, resize if needed, rotate 10 degrees to right, C/P as a new layer below frame.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ selections invert again. Do not deselect yet.
Add a new raster layer.
Using EyeCandy5 ~ Impact ~ glass ~ find setting ~ CLEAR NO DROP SHADOW 'n apply.
Selections none.  This will give the appearance the image is behind glass.
 
4.  Open nameplate (element 22) resize 25%. C/P. Rotate ~ 10 degrees to right.  D/S.
Add name in font VIP, fill color #8b3b34, alias ~ sharp. Rotate 10 degrees to right ~ convert to raster layer.
Open gold doves, resize one 25% and the other at 30%. C/P. D/S. Sharpen once.
 Add Gift box (element 3) 20%.
 
5.  Add tube of choice. D/S.
 
6. Optional: on masked layer apply Xenoflex2 ~ constellation with following:
(this looks best on backgrounds with white or light color)
Eliminate this step for dark or black backgrounds.
 
 
 
7.  Add copyright, URL and watermark.
If you don't wish to animate, close white background, merge visible, crop ~ merged opaque and save as a .PNG
 
 
8.  To animate, be sure white background is closed.
Copy MERGED and paste in A/S as a new animation.
In A/S, Effect ~ insert image effect ~
animation frame checked ~ find Scratches in drop down menu
settings: effect length = 2.2
frames per sec = 6
Click OK.
View animation.
Tweak these settings if the scratches aren't to your liking.
Animation properties ~ opaque white.
Optimize and save as a GIF.

New Tutorial ~ All I Want For Christmas

This tut is written for a beautiful tagger by the name of Carolyn
 

 This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 Corel PSP X2 or any version will do.
 Tube of choice.  I am using the seductive artwork of Olivia. You can purchase a license to use her work at CILM.

Plugins: Xenoflex2 ~ Constellation

This tag is inspired by a beautiful tagger by the name of

 * * * * *
 
1. Open a new transparent image 650 x 600 pixels, flood fill white.
Open frame of choice, resized to 500 px wide. C/P
Using rectangular selection tool, draw a selection beyond inner border of frame. Selections ~ invert.
Open paper1, resized to 600 px wide. C/P as new layer ~ delete ~ selections ~ none.
Move this paper layer below frame, mirror the paper and Sharpen once.
D/S frame with a light setting or 1/-1/45/5 blur, color #404040.
 
 2.   Add tube of choice as topmost layer. Open Xmas tree, resized 20%, C/P ~ mirror. D/S
Erase bottom part of Xmas tree that extends beyond bottom part of frame.
Add other elements of choice, drop shadow as you paste. Duplicate elements as desired.
Element 21 ~ 15%, element 10 ~ 15%, element 15 ~ 10%, element 19 ~ 25%
element 12 ~ 10% and again at 75%.
See reference tag for placement.
Add wordart.
 
3. If you wish to resize, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add copyright, URL, watermark & name.
If you don't wish to animate, close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG.

4. To animate name, duplicate name layer twice for a total of 3 layers.
Rename each name1, name2, name3.
 
 On Name1 layer, add white gradient glow of choice. Use Adjust ~ add Noise ~ 33, uniform, monochrome checked.
Add white dropshadow of 1/-1/50/5 blur color white.
On Name2, add same gradient glow, add noise ~ 38, D/S.
On Name 3, add same gradient glow, add noise ~ 43, D/S.
Hide Name3 and Name 2 layers for now.

5.  To animate:
 Delete the white background layer in PSP
Choose wordart layer on your layer palette.
Using Xenoflex2 ~ Constellation with following setting:
 
 
 
Copy MERGED 'n paste in Animation shop as a new animation.
 
Back to PSP, undo the constellation effect and hide name 1, unhide name2.
Choose wordart layer, add constellation effect again but hit random seed once.
Copy MERGED 'n paste in A/S after current frame.
 
Back to PSP, undo the constellation effect, hide name2, unhide name3.
Choose wordart layer, add constellation effect again but hit random seed once again.
Copy MERGED 'n paste in A/S after current frame.
View animation for errors.
Change animation properties to opaque white.
Optimize and save as a GIF.

  * * * * *
 
1.  Open a new transparent image 700 x 575 px, flood fill white. Can resize later.
 Add a new raster layer ~ selections ~ select All
Open brown paper5, copy 'n paste INTO the selection. Sharpen. Selections ~ none.
Apply mask of choice.
 
2.  Open element9 (window frame), resize to 650 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Move slightly upward & to the right.
Using selection tool ~ rectangle, draw a selection beyond the inner panes of the window.
Open paper3, resize to 600 px wide, C/P as a new layer below the window frame.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ none.
Open main tubes of choice, resize one slightly larger than other to appear one is closer to window.
 D/S each 1/-1/69/4 blur color black
D/S window frame also.
 
3.  Open element6 (twigs), resize 600 px wide. C/P on top of window frame.
Add clock ~ 20%, key ~ 20%, red ribbon (element4) ~ 40%, green spruce ~ 20%
Duplicate spruce twig and rotate left 90 degrees.
 White Ribbon ~ 30%, White bow (element11) ~ 20%
 
Note: Colorize bow before adding to your tag by
Selections ~ select all ~ float ~ defloat ~ add a new raster layer.
Flood fill selection with color #8f0412. Selections ~ none.
Change blend mode of this color layer to 'multiply' and drop opacity to 85%.
Copy MERGED, paste as a new layer above window frame.
D/S all elements added except element3 (white ribbon).
 
4.  Open element14, (woodhearts), resize 10%.
Using rectangle selection tool, draw around one block.
Promote selection to layer by right clicking on your layer palette.
Selections ~ none.
On promoted selection layer, select ALL ~ float ~ defloat ~ modify selection ~ contract by 16 px. ~ delete. Selections ~ none.
C/P as a new layer on your working tag. Duplicate for as many letters as there are in your name. Arrange.
Use pick tool (deformation tool) to rotate some of these blocks.
Merge down these blocks to each other to create all blocks on one layer.
Using magic wand, feather 0, click inside center of each of these blocks ~ modify selection ~ expand by 5 pixels.
Open paper2, resized to 500 px, C/P as a new layer below the blocks ~ invert selection ~ delete ~ selections ~ none.
Colorize this paper layer Adjust Hue/Saturation 28/76.
D/S the block frame. Merge down the block frame to the paper layer.
Move this layer below the twigs (element 6) on your layer palette
to make it appear to be hanging from twigs.
 
5.  If you wish to resize your tag do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add copyright, URL, watermark.
Add your initials to center of each block.
For each letter, use Effects ~ 3D ~ cutout ~ V & H = 2, opacity 55, blur 6, shadow color  #591016. Fill interior unchecked.
 
6.  To animate:
 
 Close off white background layer on working image.
Find window frame layer on your layer palette, draw one rectangular selection beyond all the window panes.
Selections ~ Invert
Open snowflake animation by QueenBrat (in psp format)
Close off Frame 8. We will start with Frame 1.
 Unhide Frame 1 ~ Copy 'n Paste as a new layer
immediately below the window frame but above the Woolcott tubes. Delete on your keyboard ~ do NOT deselect.
Rename this layer Snow 1.
Back to QueenBrat Snowflakes, copy frame 2 'n paste above Snow 1 layer ~ delete.
Rename this layer Snow 2.
Copy in turn each frame from the snowflake animation 'n paste in sequence, remembering to delete first
and renaming each layer as you go ie.
Snow 3, Snow 4, Snow 5, etc.
 
7.  When done C/P all 8 layers, close off all your snow layers except Snow 1. Copy MERGED
Open Animation Shop ~ paste as a new animation.
Back to PSP, close Snow 1, unhide Snow 2 ~ copy MERGED
paste in A/S after current frame.
Continue this sequence until you have 8 frames in A/S.
When done, view animation for errors.
Change frame properties to 20.
To crop in A/S, find the crop tool, select it ~ find Options on toolbar ~ select it ~ choose surround the opaque area. OK.
On your animation, click in center to crop.  Always crop before adding white background.
Change animation properties to opaque ~ white.
Optimize 'n save as a GIF.

Being So Small



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

Another quickie tut for you!
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 650 x 550 px. Flood fill white.
 Open element 1, resize to 600 px wide. C/P as a new layer. Duplicate ~ mirror ~ flip.
 
2.  Open element 7, resize to 540 px wide, C/P, place in upper half of tag. Duplicate ~ mirror ~ flip.
 
3. Open element 5 shadowed, resize approx 13%. C/P
Using magic wand, click in center of ribbon frame, modify selections ~ expand by 7.
Open paper, resized to 500 px wide. C/P as a new layer below the wreath frame.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ invert again.
Add a new raster layer, flood fill with #4a3435.
Selections ~ none. Change blend mode of this color layer to Hard Light.
Sharpen the paper layer beneath this color layer.
 
4.  Open element 6, shadowed, resize to 500 px wide. C/P ~ rotate ~ 90 degrees to right.
Place over bottom portion of ribbon frame.
 
5. Open element 2 shadowed, resize to 225 px wide. C/P at bottom of ribbon frame.
Colorize Hue & Saturation ~ 253/105.
 
6. Open element 8 shadowed, resize 15%, C/Paste below the paper & ribbon frame.
Rotate with pick tool as desired. Duplicate & rotate again. Duplicate ~ mirror ~ resize 85.
Place as desired.
 
7. Open tube of choice, C/P where you wish.
Duplicate tube and close for now.
On original tube layer, use Adjust ~ brightness/contrast of -255/0.
Drop opacity of this layer to approx 34%.
Open duplicate tube layer and offset slightly down 'n to left.
Using eraser tool, erase part of the original tube layer at the very top around the 'fairy dust' only.
This lowered opacity effect creates a perfect drop shadow of your tube.
 
 8. Add wordart supplied, resize if desired. C/P.
Using adjust brightness/contrast, colorize this wordart 'black' using setting -255 / 0
OR white using +255 / 0, whichever looks best for your tag.
D/S only if colorizing it white.
 
 9.  If you wish to resize your tag do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add copyright, URL, watermark & name.
 
Close white background, merge visible ~ crop merged opaque 'n save as a PNG.

New Tutorial ~ Christmas Moments



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

Four tubes of choice by same artist.

Plugin: Xero ~ Radiance
Optional Plugin: EyeCandy 4000 ~ Gradient Glow for copyright only
Font for name is Portfolio Regular, a pay font
 
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 650 x 575 px. Do not flood fill white.
Open Noel element 09, crop MERGED OPAQUE
resize to 650 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Duplicate & drop opacity of duplicate layer to approx. 50%.
 
2.  Using selection tool, rectangle, feather 0, draw a rectangular selection around the 'N'
Open first tube, C/P as a new layer below your NOEL word on your layer palette.
Center tube as desired, selection - invert ~ delete. Selections ~ none.
 
For letter 'O', use selection tool ~ eclipse ~ draw a selection around 'O'
open second tube, C/P as a new layer ~ center as desired
(try to line up the 'eyes' of all your tubes for overall balance)
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ none.
 
For letter 'E', draw a rectangular selection around 'E'
Open third tube, C/P as a new layer ~ center
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ none.
 
For letter 'L', draw a rectangular selection around vertical portion of 'L'
Holding shift key on keyboard, draw another rectangle around horizontal portion of 'L'
The two selections will automatically merge.
Open fourth tube, C/P as a new layer ~ center.
Selection ~ invert ~ delete ~ none.
 
3.  Merge down the last tube layer to your third tube, merge down to second tube,
merge down to first tube layer.
All four tubes should now be one layer.
Using plugin Xero ~ Radiance ~ default setting or 128, 50, 128, 255.
 
 4.  Open Merry Christmas wordart from Delicious Scraps.
Draw a point-to-point selection around the Merry Christmas wording, excluding the red bow.
C/P as top layer on your layer palette
Resize 20% and again 90%. D/S if desired.
 
5. To personalize tag, add elements of choice, duplicating as desired.
Drop opacity of these elements slightly to blend in with white background.
Snowflake element 23 ~ 10%, element 01 ~ 20%
 
6.  Add copyright, URL, watermark and name.
For name, close foreground color, using fill color white,
type name, image rotate ~ free rotate to left 7 degrees.
Use Effects ~ 3D effects ~ inner bevel as below:
 
 
 
 
Adjust Hue & Saturation 26 ~ 148. D/S if you wish.
 Draw a freehand selection around a red bead from the 'Merry Christmas' wordart,
C/P as many as desired on your name, resized to your preference.
 
 
7. Merge visible. Crop ~ Merged Opaque ~ save as a PNG.

New Tutorial ~ Winter Moon



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
 Tube of choice.  I am using the beautiful artwork of Jennifer Janesko. You can purchase a license to use her art at CILM.
Freebie Winter Wonderland Cluster frame by RaspberryRoad Designs found HERE
Mask20/20 provided HERE
Optional Plugin: Xenoflex 2 ~ Constellation
 Font for name is Ability Black, which is a pay font.
 
Another quickie tut for you.
 
 * * * * *
 
1.  Open up a new transparent image 625 x 600 pixels and flood fill white.
 Open the cluster frame, using crop tool, find on top tool bar ~ Snap crop rectangle to ~ choose Merged Opaque.
Click on center of your tag to crop.
Resize frame 20%. C/P as a new layer.
 
2.  Add a new raster layer above your white background, flood fill with color #002851.
Open mask20/20, minimize.
Layers ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find mask 'n apply.
Before merging, on your layer palette, duplicate the mask (layer highlighted).
Now merge group. Duplicate this masked layer. Merge down.
Resize 90%.
Using Xenoflex2 ~ Constellation ~ setting as below:
 
 
 
If you don't have this plugin, an alternative is the VM Natural ~ Sparkle plugin.
 
2. Open tube of choice, C/P above masked layer.
Using eraser or selection tool, erase any part of tube that extend beyond bottom of frame.
Duplicate tube. Move duplicate layer above frame.
Again, erase any part of top tube layer to make it appear she is leaning through frame.
D/S original tube layer.
 
Note:  When downsizing elements or in this case the cluster frame,
it is wise to sharpen it once. However, in doing so, the moon will appeared oversharpened
when the decorative portion will look fine.  To eliminate this,
simply use your selection tool, using either freehand or point-to-point, feather set to 5, smoothing 0,
draw a selection around the decorative element portion of the frame as below:
 
 
 
Adjust ~ Sharpness ~ Unsharp mask ~ settings: radius 1, strength 30, clipping 3
luminance only checked. Apply. Selections ~ none.
Using the unsharp mask gives your greater control over the degree of sharpness applied.
 
 
3.  Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
 Close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG.

New Tutorial ~ I Feel Pretty



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.

I do not take credit for this creation as this tag is inspired by the kit itself.
I simply wanted to share it with you.
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 650 x 575 px. Flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select ALL
Open paper1, copy 'n paste INTO the selection. Selections ~ none.
Sharpen once.
Open chas10mask, minimize. Layers ~ New mask layer ~ from image ~ find mask 'n apply.
Merge group. Duplicate. (If using a dark background ie. black, do NOT duplicate mask.
 
2.  Open wordart, resize to 600 px in height. C/P as a new layer. Place as desired.
Open mask20/20, minimize.  On the wordart layer, apply this mask. Layers ~ new mask layer ~ from image ~ find mask20/20.
Merge group. This nicely fades the outter edges of the wordart.
On material pallette, close background, for foreground choose color# b588db.
Using your Change-To-Target tool (left hand toolbar)
Settings: round circle ~ sz 50, hardness 50, step 10, density 100, thickness 100,
rotation 0, opacity 100, mode ~ color
Apply this change-to-target tool by left clicking mouse over the wordart.
This changes the color to a light purple or #b588db.
 
 
3.  Open green leaf element, resize to 600 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Using change-to-target tool again, same color, apply by mousing over the leaves.
D/S using 2/-4/50/4 blur color #404040.
 
4. Add purple sequin element E1, resize 15%. C/P as a new layer.
Open ribbon frame resize 25%. C/P as a new layer.
Image ~ rotate 90 degrees to left ~ mirror.
Center as desired.  Using magic wand, click in center of frame, selections ~ modify ~ expand by 5 px.
Open paper 1 again, resize to 600 px wide. C/P
Invert  selection ~ delete. Move this paper layer below ribbon frame.
Open tube of choice, C/P as a new layer above paper but below frame.
Using eraser tool, erase the bottom portion of the tube that extends below the frame in the selection.
Selections ~ none.
Duplicate tube layer. Move duplicate layer above ribbon frame.
Using eraser tool, erase excess part of tube that overlaps bottom part of ribbon frame.
D/S original tube layer only.
D/S ribbon frame with nice blurry D/S.
 
5. Open element 1, resized 21%, C/P as a new layer above the paper layer. D/S with lokas 3D Shadow as below:
 
 
 
6. Add element 3, resize 10%, rotate with pick tool, sharpen, duplicate and D/S each.
 Pink flower ~ 12%. Element 9 ~ 25%.  Add butterfly ~ 10%. C/P. Duplicate if desired. Resize 50%.
Rotate using pick tool.  Sharpen.
D/S all elements with 1/-1/50/4 blur color #404040.
 
7.  Add copyright, URL, watermark and name.
For name I used a gradient of two colors from your tag
using angle 45, repeat 0 Linear style
 
 Close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG.

No Plugins
 Font used for name is Passions Conflict ROB, a pay font
 
 * * * * *
 
1. Open paper from kit, resize to 600 px wide.
Open mask provided, minimize. Layers ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image find jwy_mask10 'n apply.
Merge group. Copy.
 
2.  Open a new transparent image 625 x 600 px, flood fill white.
Paste the masked layer as a new layer.
Open the stars, resize to 600 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Duplicate ~ mirror.  Resize the duplicate 90%.
 
3.  Open the swirls2, resize to 450 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Open star, resize to approx 441 px. wide.
C/P as a new layer. Using the selection tool, freehand ~ point-to-point,
draw a selection along the star frame border.
Open paper provided, resize to 500 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Selections ~ invert. Delete. Do NOT deselect yet.
Move paper layer below star frame.
Open music heart paper, resize 25%. C/P as a new layer above the paper. Change blend mode to darken.
 
4.  Open tube of choice, C/P as a new layer above the music heart paper.
Center to star frame. Press delete to rid of tube excess. Selections ~ none.
Drop opacity of tube to approx 47.
Back to star frame, D/S with 1/-1/20/20/ 2 blur, color # 404040
Duplicate this star frame. Rename this layer "Star Animation"
 
5. Open oval shape found in supplies, C/P as a new layer above the mask layer.
Open ornament, resize to 600 px in height. Using selection tool,
draw a selection around string only 'n delete. Selections ~ none.
C/P as a new layer, placing at top of star frame.D/S
Open bird, resize 15%, C/P as a new layer.
Open wordart from supplies, C/P as top layer.
 
 If you wish to resize tag, do so now.
 
6.  Add copyright, URL, watermark & name. 
If you don't wish to animate,
 close white background, merge visible ~ save as a PNG.
 
* * * * *
 
To animate:
 
Delete the white background layer.
Find the star animation layer,
using the Lighten/Darken tool on your left-hand toolbar,
we will lighten each side of the star frame (10 sides in all) starting with left top.
Lighten section by left clicking on mouse and lightening area by mousing over it twice. (Is mousing a word? lol)
Copy MERGED &  paste in A/S as a new animation.
 
Back to PSP, UNDO your lighten effect, and lighten the next side of the star frame. 
 (Do not worry about overlapping areas
when lightening as it will blend in during animation.)
 
Copy MERGED 'n paste in A/S after current frame.
Undo/redo this lighten effect on all 10 sides of star frame.
When done, you should have a total of 10 frames in A/S.
 
Back to PSP, undo the lighten effect.  Copy MERGED 'n paste in A/S after frame 10.
(This will be a frame with NO lightening effect applied.)
We now have 11 frames in A/S.
Click on frame 11, change frame properties to 120.
All other frames will stay at default of 10.
Change animation properties to opaque white.
View animation. If happy, optimize and save as a GIF.

New Tutorial ~ Winter Is My Love



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice.  I am using the sexy artwork of Elias Chatzoudis. You can purchase a license to use his work at MPT.

Another quickie tut for you.
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 625 x 575 px. Flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select ALL
Open paper from Winter Romance kit, copy 'n paste INTO the selection. Select ~ none.
Sharpen once. Open Bdmask3, minimize.
Layer ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find bdmask3 and apply.
Merge group.  Duplicate masked layer 2 or 3 times.
 
2.  Open element3 from Kimla kit, resize to 600 px wide.
C/P as a new layer above your masked layers.
Move to top left. Duplicate and move this layer to bottom right.
D/S with 1/-1/20/2 blur color black
 
3. Open element 4, resize to 600 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
 
4. Open star element5, resize 12%.
Using selection tool, freehand ~ point-to-point, draw a selection
around the round ring at the top of the star 'n delete. Select ~ none.
D/S as above.
Duplicate as many times as desired, resizing some 75% more.
 
5. Open kimla's pink element2, resize 10% and C/P as a new layer.
Duplicate as many times as desire.
 
6.  Open blue star element2 from Winter Romance kit, resize to 600 px in height.
C/P as a new layer. Move slightly upward.
Using Adjust, brightness/contrast, brightness 255, contrast 0.
D/S if desired.
 
7.  Open wordart from Kimla designs kit, resize to 600 px in width.
C/P as a new layer. Using brightness/contrast 255/0, change color to white.
Adjust ~ add noise ~ uniform ~ 35, monochrome checked. Sharpen.
Add D/S 1/-1/40/2 blur, color black
 
8.  Add tube of choice. Duplicate tube. On this duplicate layer, Adjust ~ blur ~ guassian blur ~ 3.
Change blend mode to 'soft light'.
D/S original tube layer only.
 
9.  Open bird from Winter Romance kit, resize 10% and another 75%.
Sharpen. C/P paste as a new layer, rotate with pick tool (deformation tool) if desired.
D/S.
 
 
 10.  If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
For name use background color white ~ Adjust ~ add noise, same setting as above. Sharpen. D/S.
Close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG.

New Tutorial ~ Winter Princess



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 650 x 600 px. Flood fill white.
Open frame 12, resize to 450 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
Rotate 10 degrees to right. Duplicate. Drop opacity of duplicate layer to 75%. Merge down.
Using selection tool, freehand ~ point-to-point, draw a selection beyond inner border of frame.
Add a new raster layer.
Open paper8, resized to 500 px. wide, C/P INTO the selection. Do NOT deselect yet.
Move paper layer below frame.
Open winterscene background image of choice or the one provided in supplies. Mirror.
C/P as a new layer. Selections ~ INVERT ~ delete. Selections ~ none.
Change blend mode to Luminance and drop opacity to 76%.
 
2.  Open paper9, when you resize this paper, UNCHECK the lock aspect ratio
and change the width to 520 px X 430 px in height. Sharpen once.
C/P as a new layer above your white background.
Using selection tool ~ rectangular ~ draw a rectangle beyond the edge of this paper
approx. 10 pixels wider than paper size. Add a new raster layer. Flood fill white. Selections ~ none.
Adjust ~ add noise ~ uniform ~ 55 monochrome checked.
Move this noise layer below the paper9 layer.
D/S the noise layer 0/0/80/3.70 blur color #404040.
 
3. Choose topmost layer on layer palette. Using font FFFUrban, sz 8, anti-alias UNchecked, fill color white.
Type wording of choice or WINTER PRINCESS. Object ~ Align ~ center in canvas. Convert to raster layer.
Using plugin Mura's Meister ~ copies ~ tiling ~ use standard settings but change tile gap to 2.
Apply.
Back to Paper 9 layer, selections ~ select ALL, float, defloat, invert.
back to wordart layer, press delete on keyboard.
Selections ~ none. Move this wordart layer on your layer palette just above Paper9 layer.
Drop opacity to approx. 73%.
 
4. Now to decorate your tag, add doodles supplied, stars provided, white Xmas tree
and other elements of choice from kit, placing them below the frame/paper layer created in Step 1.
Resize snowflake element 6  ~ 10% and another 75%.  D/S 1/-2/80/3.7 blur, color #404040.
C/P as a new layer above frame.
Duplicate snowflakes as many times as desired, resizing a further 75%.
 
5. Open tube of choice, resize 90% smartsize. C/P as a new layer above all other layers.
Duplicate tube. Move duplicate copy below frame layer. Using selection tool ~ freehand ~ point-to-point,
draw a selection around the bottom of the tube that extends beyond the bottom of the frame. Delete.
Do some for top tube layer. Selections ~ none.
 Erase part of the orginal tube layer to make it appear she is leaning through frame. D/S tube.
To soften the tube, use Adjust ~ Brightness/Contrast ~ Clarify ~ setting of 3.
Back to duplicate copy of tube, Selections ~ select ALL, float, defloat.
Add a new raster layer. Flood fill selection white. Selections none.
Change blend mode of this white layer to 'Soft Light'.
Move this white layer ABOVE the original tube layer (uppermost tube) to soften the color of the tube.
Carefully erase any part of this white layer that may overlap the frame.
 
6.  Add wordart WINTER PRINCESS supplied as topmost layer.
 
  7.  If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
Close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG.

New Tutorial ~ Xmas Present



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 625 x 600 px. Flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select ALL
Open paper 27, copy 'n paste INTO the selection. Selections ~ none. Sharpen once.
Open gemsmask8, minimize. Layers ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find gemsmask8 'n apply.
Merge group.
 
2.  Open element 75, resize to 600 px wide, C/P as a new layer.
Open element 25, resize to 550 px wide, C/P as a new layer. Image ~ free rotate 7 degrees to left.
Duplicate ~ merge down. D/S using 1/1/80/3 blur, color #404040
 
 3.  Open element 54, resize 20%, C/P as a new layer. Using pick tool (deformation tool),
rotate slightly. Sharpen. Duplicate as many times as desired. D/S each leaf.
 
4.  Open element 79, resize to 600 px in height. C/P as a new layer.
Image ~ rotate ~ 15 degrees to left. Sharpen. D/S.
 
5. Open element 50, resize 25%, C/P as a new layer. Rotate with pick tool as desired. Sharpen.
Duplicate as many times as desired. D/S each leaf layer.
 
6.  Open element 47, resize 20%, C/P as a new layer. Rotate with pick tool slightly. Sharpen.
Duplicate as many times as desired. D/S each pine cone.
 
7.  Open frame element 17, resize to 550 px in height and again at 90%. C/P as a new layer.
Using selection tool ~ freehand ~ point-to-point, draw a selection just beyond inside border of frame.
Open Paper23, resize to 550 px wide, C/P as a new layer. Invert selection ~ press delete. Selections ~ none.
Move paper layer below rope frame.
 
8. Open tube of choice. C/P as a new layer above your paper layer. Duplicate. Move duplicate copy above frame.
Using eraser tool, erase any part of the bottom tube layer that extends beyond bottom part of frame.
On duplicate tube layer, erase part of foot to make it appear she is stepping out of the frame.
See reference tag. D/S duplicate tube layer only.
 
9.  Open element 30, resize 20%, C/P as a new layer. Duplicate as many times as desired. D/S each.
Open element 99, resize 25%, C/P as a new layer. Place on left side of frame. D/S
 Open wordart supplied, C/P as a new layer, placing to right of frame.
 
 If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
 
To animate:
 
Close off white background and all layers ABOVE the paper layer on your layer palette (excluding paper).
Copy MERGED the bottom layers.
Open Animation Shop, paste as a new animation. Duplicate frames for a total of 10 frames. Select ~ All
Open snowani supplied. Select ALL ~ copy
Drag first frame of snow ani over first frame of main tag, placing it over the paper layer.
If you didn't resize your tag in PSP, the snow ani should fit perfectly over the paper layer.
 
Back to PSP, close off all the bottom layers BELOW the paper layer, including the paper layer.
Open all layers ABOVE the paper layer. Copy MERGED this top layer.
Paste in A/S as a new animation. Duplicate for a total of 10 frames. Select ~ all ~ copy.
Drag first frame of this top animation over the first frame of the main tag.
View animation. If happy, change animation properties to opaque ~ color white.
Optimize and save as a .gif.

New Tutorial ~ Joy Of The Season



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

Another quickie tut for you!
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image, 625 x 600 px. Flood fill white.
Open ribbon 3 without dropshadow, resize to 550 px wide. C/P as a new layer.
D/S 1/-1/50/5 blur color black
 
2.  Open overlays4 Emb2, resize to 700 px in height. C/P as a new layer.
*Do not be concerned this overlay is larger than the working image.*
 
3.  Open the overlays4 emb1, resize to 700 px in height C/P as a new layer,
aligning these overlays as best you can.
 
4.  Open tube of choice, C/P as a new layer between the two overlay layers.
Move tube to desired position.
If using same tube as above and to better blend the bottom of her gown into overlay,
use selection tool ~ freehand selection ~ mode add ~ feather 50, smoothing 0,
Draw a jagged selection around the bottom of her gown and press delete once or twice to rid of hard edge.
Selections ~ none.
 
See below for the feathered selection.
 
 
 
5. Click on topmost layer, open the overlays4 emb4 (rope), resize to 500 px in width, C/P as a new layer.
 
 If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
 
Close white background, merge visible and save as a PNG

New Tutorial ~ Winter Time



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice. I am using the wonderul artwork of Carrie Hall. You may obtain a license to use her work at Up Your Art
 FTU scrap kit called Frosted Whisper found HERE
Mask 20/20 found HERE
Note: Save this mask in your PSP Mask Folder and direct this folder to your PSP using File Locations.
Plugin:  EyeCandy 5 ~ Nature ~ Snow Drift
 Font used for name is Mekanik LET found HERE
 
  * * * * *
 
1.   Open up a new transparent image 700 x 600 pixels and flood fill white.  You can resize later.
Open paper from kit, resize to 700 px wide, C/P as a new layer. Using crop tool, click on 'Layer Opaque' on top toolbar
and click center to apply. This eliminates paper beyond working image.
Layers ~ Load Mask from Disc ~ find the 20/20 mask in your drop down menu.
Choose fit to canvas, source luminance and hide all mask. Apply.
Merge group.  Repeat this mask application.
 
2.  Open element 39 (brown frame), resize 28%. C/P as a new layer. Duplicate and resize duplicate approx 70%.
 Offset these two frames to your liking.
 
3.  Open wordart element 34, resize to 625 px wide. C/P as a new layer. Do NOT move it from this position.
Open wordart element 33, resize it to 625 px wide. C/P as a new layer. 
These two wordart layers should be superimposed perfectly.
Lock these two layers on your layer palette by choosing '1' on layer link toggle.
Doing so, you're able to move the wordart to any position on your tag.
 
4.  Open tube of choice. C/P as a new layer. Duplicate your tube 'n close this duplicate layer for now.
On original tube layer, Layers ~ Load Mask from disc ~ find 20/20 mask.
Choose Fit to Layer, source luminance 'n hide all mask. Apply.
Merge group. Drop opacity of this tube layer to 52. This nicely blends the tube with your background.
 
 5.  Unhide the duplicate copy of your tube and on this layer, using your selection tool,
choose 'square' in drop down menu, feather 0.
Draw a selection around the face of your tube, approx. 146 x 146.
On your layer palette, right click 'n promote this selection to layer.
Selections ~ none.
Back to the duplicate tube copy layer, make another square selection approx 113 x 113 px.
on your tube 'n promote this selection to layer again.
Selections none.  Move this layer below the first promoted selection only if these overlap (like my selections did.)
Give both promoted selections a nice blurry D/S, setting 6/8/50/10 blur, color black
DELETE the duplicate copy layer of your tube.
 
6. To make a white frame around these promoted selections, draw another
square selection around the promoted selections. Add a new raster layer 'n flood fill white.
Selections ~ modify ~ contract by 7 px ~ press delete.  Selections ~ none.
Repeat this for the smaller promoted selection. If desired, D/S these white frames with a light setting or 0/1/50/4 blur, black
 
7.  Open clock element 37, resize 25%, C/P as a new layer and drop opacity to 20. Move where desired
and placing it below the promote selections made above.
Add element 25 ~ 20%, element 29 ~ 20%,
open element 36, draw a selection around the second WinterTime wordart from the left to include flower,
C/P as a new layer and resize it 50%. Place wordart around the smaller brown frame.
From element 36, draw selection around individual flowers and C/P as new layers,
placing them in various areas of your tag. Resize to your liking.
 
8.  Using EyeCandy 5 ~ Nature ~ Snow drift ~ find setting for SMALL ~ FIRST FLAKES under settings tab 'n apply.
Add this snow to any elements you desire ie. leaves, twig 'n brown frames.
Resize tag at this point if desired using 90% smartsize.
 
 9.  Add copyright, URL, watermark and name.
 
Merge all flatten and save as a JPEG or close white bg, merge visible and save as a PNG.
