This is an easy method to do blends, layouts or backgrounds using a photo mask.
Open a new transparent image 800 x 600 pixels. Flood fill white.
Open the PhotoMask supplied. Copy 'n paste as a new layer on the working image.
Open image of choice. Be sure the image is larger in size than the photo mask (so that it covers the entire photo mask layer).
Copy 'n paste the image as a new layer.
Change the blend mode of the image layer to Screen on your layers palette.
Now centre the image by moving it over the photo mask to your liking.
Select the photo mask layer. Using magic wand, click on the outer transparent area of the photo mask
Back to image layer, press delete on your keyboard to delete excess image.
Now you can change the opacity of your image, colorize it or leave as is.
I chose to colorize the image to black/white tone using hue 255, saturation 0.
Now let your imagination come alive...
I added a scrap paper from Kubivets Nostalgie scrap kit
by adding a layer above the white background. Selections ~ select all
and pasting the paper into the selection. Select none. Sharpen once.
Add any elements you desire on top of your image layer.
I added the glass beads, reducing the opacity to give them a more transparent look.
I added the butterflies as well, resizing them and changing their opacity to hard light.
Now add the wordart as a new layer. You may also use brushes on new seperate layers,
giving you the option to play with opacities and different blend modes.
Resize your tag now if desired.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
Merge all flatten and save as a .png or .jpeg.
Hope you enjoy your new blend tag.
