New Tutorial ~ Sail Away With Me



 Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice.  I am using the sexy artwork of Gennadiy Koufay. You can purchase a license to use his artwork at CILM.

Mask WSL _119 by Chelle found HERE
 Flaming Pear Plugin ~ Flood
Font used for name is Mumm12Days Swirls found HERE
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image 650 x 575 px. Flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select All ~ open paper 4 ~ paste into selection. Selections none.
Open mask WSL_119, minimize.  Layers ~ new mask layer ~ new image ~ find mask ~ apply.
Delete mask on layer palette ~ merge group. Resize mask layer by 105% smart size. Duplicate mask.
 
2. Open porthole element 26 ~ resize to 600 x 600 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer on your working image.
Draw a circular selection around opening of porthole using selections ~ circle ~ feather 0.
Open paper 3, resized to 500 x 500 px. Copy 'n paste beneath porthole element.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete excess paper. Selections none.
D/S the porthole element with favorite setting or 3, 3, 55, 5 blur, black
 
3. Open element 36, resize to 600 x 600 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above your mask layers. Do not D/S
Add various elements of choice.  Element 3, sign 5, 23,  37 ~ resized 20%.  Element 27, 38 ~ 25%. Element 34 ~ 50%
Star Element 20 ~ selection one starfish of choice ~ resize 15%. Rotate using pic tool (deformation tool). Element 24 ~ 15%
Element 35 ~ choose shell of choice ~ resize 20% ~ paste as a new layer ~ image rotate 90 degrees to left.
Place elements according to reference tag and D/S each 1, 1, 55, 5 blur, black
Add main tube of choice as top layer ~ resize 90%. D/S
 
 
4.  To make text as above,  you may use pattern from your tube for your name fill, select material as below:

Copy 'n paste as a new image on workspace. Rotate ALL layers 90 degrees to left. Minimize.
Minimize font of choice. Select foreground color #0d0d17,  fill ~ find pattern you created, angle 0, scale 100.
Anti-alias ~ sharp. Stroke width 1.5, create as vector, sz 72  D/S
 
5. Add copyright, URL and watermark now if not resizing your tag.
 
 
Now to animate:
 
6.  In PSP, close off white background layer (by clicking on 'eye' on layer palette)
 Select paper3 layer on your layer palette,
draw a selection as below using the freehand selection tool ~ point-to-point, feather 0, smoothing 0:

Duplicate this selection layer four times for a total of 5 layers. Close off all these duplicated layers. Select the original paper layer selection:
Effects ~ Flaming Pear Plugin ~ Flood ~ use the standard settings except set the Horizon to 0. Altitude remains at 50 (on view)
Close off this layer, select duplicate copy layer 1, use same Flood settings except change Horizon to 0, altittude to 52.
Close off this layer, select duplicate copy layer 2, use same Flood settings except change Horizon to 0, altitude to 54.
Close off this layer and continue on with next layer, changing the Horizon always to 0, and increasing altitude by 2.
When all layers are flooded, besure original flood layer is open and duplicate copies are closed.
 
6.  Copy MERGED and paste in Animation Shop as a new animation.
Close off original paper selection layer and open the duplicate copy 1 layer above
Copy MERGED and edit paste after current frame.
Repeat this process til you have a total of 5 frames in A/S.
 
Check animation by choosing View animation. If happy, select all ~ Animation ~ change frame properties to 25
and change animation properties to opaque ~ color white.
 
If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% bicubic.
 
 Tip:  Always add your copyright, URL, and watermark after resizing but before optimizing.
 
 Optimize tag and save as a .Gif

New Tutorial ~ Love Mom



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice.  I am using the amazing artwork of Rachael Tallamy. You can purchase a license to use her work HERE.

Font used for name is P22 Ruthie ROB, a pay font.
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open a new transparent image 625 x 625 px. Flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select All ~ open paper 9, copy 'n paste into the selection ~ select none.
Open Chas9mask, minimize it.  Layers ~ new mask layer ~ from Image ~ find chas9mask, source luminance. Select Ok.
Delete the mask from your layer palette ~ merge group.
Duplicate this mask layer and drop the opacity of the duplicate layer to approx. 69%
 On original mask layer ~ Adjust blur ~ guassian blur ~ radius 20.
 
2.  Open paper element15 ~ resize to 525 x 549. Copy 'n paste as a new layer over top the masks.
Image ~ free rotate 5 degrees to left.
 
3. Open daisy circle element 24, resize to 500 x 489 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer.
Using magic wand ~ tolerate 10, feather 0, select the center of the daisy frame
Selections ~ modify ~ expand by 5 px.
Open paper 12 ~ resize 500 x 500 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer
Selections ~ invert ~ delete ~ do NOT deselect yet
Image free rotate this paper 10 degrees left. Sharpen if desired.
Move this paper layer beneath the daisy frame.
Open lace element 13, resize 20%, copy 'n paste as a new layer over top the paper
Move to top portion of daisy frame ~ delete ~ selections ~ none.
Duplicate this lace ~ flip. Use a delicate D/S on both lace layers of 0, 0, 50, 5 blur, color #404040.
Open tube of choice,  resize if needed ~ copy 'n paste as a new layer between the two lace layers.
See reference tag.
Back to paper layer ~ selections ~ select All ~ select float, defloat, invert
Move back to tube layer ~ press delete ~ selections none.
D/S tube with same setting as lace.
Add a heavier D/S to the daisy frame of 10, 10, 50, 5 blur color #404040
 
4.  Now to personalize your tag, add flowers, and leaves resized 20-30%
Add white ribbon element 45 resized 20%
Add leaf frame element 1, resized to 500 px wide.
Copy 'n paste as a new layer, moving slightly to left. Duplicate and move
duplicate copy slightly down and to right.
Move both these leaf frames below the paper layer
Add butterfly, resized 15%. Add tag of choice resized 20%.
D/S all added embellishments
 
5. Open wordart of choice, using selection tool ~ point-to-point, select
the silver heart-shaped MOM wordart. Copy 'n paste as a new top layer.
Resize 25% ~ Image ~ free rotate right 10 degrees.
Colorize if you wish ~ Adjust ~ Hue 54, Saturation 25. D/S
 
 
If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
 
Merge all flatten and save as a .JPEG or merge visible and save as . PNG

New Tutorial ~ She's All That



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice.  I am using the sexy artwork of Viktor Jung. You can purchase a license to use his work at MPT.
Template1 by Dana found HERE Thank you, Dana! ♥
Mask 20/20 which comes with my version of PSP
or any round circular mask will do.
No Scrap Kit...YAY!!!  lol
But and this is a big but....I used several plugins, so bear with me.
Plugins: Cybia ~ Screenworks
Mura Meister ~ Copies
VM Extravaganza ~ Transmission
Optional: EyeCandy 4000 ~ used only to animate
Font used is Mekanik LET which comes with my version of PSP or can be found HERE
 
  * * * * *
 
 1.  Open template1, delete all of the following:  the top credit layer, the right white flower and its dropshadow layer,
the left white flower and its dropshadow layer and the white stitches and its dropshadow layer.
 
2.  Beginning with the bottom slat 3 layer, apply the plugin Cybia Screenworks ~ pinhole setting, transparency 0.
Merge this layer down with its dropshadow.
Do the very same with Slat 1.
Select Slat 2 layer, apply Cybia Screenworks ~ close knit setting, transparency 0.
Remember to merge down your slat with its own dropshadow layer.
 
*Note:  choose any Screenworks setting you wish for your slats; have fun with this plugin*
 
3.  Merge down the right doodle with its dropshadow and do the same with the left doodle.
 
4.  Select the grey rectangle layer
Apply the plugin VM Extravaganza ~ transmission ~ setting 6, 0, 40
Now rotate all the layers using setting below:

 Repeat the VM Extravaganza ~ Transmission plugin ~ same setting.
Now free rotate all the layers back to its orginal by choosing the right direction instead.
Merge down this grey rectangle with its dropshadow.
 
5.  Select the black rectangle layer, using your move tool, move it slightly to center, in relation to the white frame layer.
(This is a slight adjustment only.)
Using the font MelanikLET, sz 72 pixels, type any word you wish (I used the word Sexy) using foreground null, fill color white, anti-alias setting = sharp.
Convert to raster layer and center it to the black rectangle roughly.
Using plugin Mura's Meister ~ copies ~ tiling (angle) setting below:

 Back to the black rectangle layer, using your magic wand, select the black rectangle
~ selections invert ~
back to mura's copy wording layer, press delete on keyboard. Select none.
Drop the opacity of this wording layer on your layer palette to approx. 33.
 
6. Merge down the right bracket to its dropshadow; merge down the left bracket as well.
 
7. Add tube of choice as a new layer. If you wish to greyscale your tube, use Hue 255, Saturation 0.
Also to sharpen the tube, use Brightness/Contrast ~ clarify setting of 5.
 D/S with your favorite setting.
Move the wordart supplied (with the template) to a suitable position, either above or below your tube layer.
See reference tag.
 
8.  Select the uppermost layer on your layer palette, with font MekanikLET again, same settings as before BUT choose
the fill color black instead, type any word you wish or your name if you so choose.
Object ~ Align ~ center in canvas ~ apply.
Convert to raster layer.
Using mura's meister ~ copies same settings as above. Apply.
Move this wording layer just above the white background layer on your layer palettte.
Apply the mask 20/20 to this wording layer twice.
 
If you wish to resize your tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL and watermark.
 
If you don't wish to animate, merge all flatten and save as a .JPEG or merge visible and save as a .PNG.
 
To animate:
 
Close off the white background layer
 
Select the SEXY wordart layer (layer above your black rectangle),
using EyeCandy 4000 ~ HSB noise ~ use the following setting:
hue var = 13
sat var = 22
brightness var = 40
opacity = 0
lump width = 42
lump height = 42
pattern = smooth lumps
seamless tile - checked
random seed 8944
Apply.
Go to Edit ~ copy merged.
Open A/S ~ paste as a new animation.
 
Back to PSP, undo the hsb noise effect.
Apply the hsb noise effect again but change the random seed by clicking it once.
Copy merged.
Paste in A/S after current frame.
 
Back to PSP, undo the HSB noise effect.
Hit random seed again and apply.
Copy merged.
Paste in A/S after the current frame for a total of 3 frames.
 
 In A/S, Edit ~ select all ~ Animation ~ change the animation properties to opaque ~ color white.
Now optimize your animation and save as a .gif.

Happy May Day!

Greetings Everyone! I'm still here! lol I've been busy with this and that so I apologize for not posting sooner. I just wanted to let you all know I haven't forgotten you and I hope to get some new tutorials posted soon. I'm moving into a newer apartment of sorts so once I get settled in, I'll be a happy camper again and be able to sit down and do some creating. I'm thinking of you and I hope you're thinking of me too. :=)
