New Tutorial ~ Country Delite



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP. 
Supplies Needed:
I am using Corel PSP X2 but any version will do.
 Tube of choice.  I am using the amazing artwork of Ismael Rac. You can purchase a license to use his art at AMI.

Optional Plugin: Xenoflex 2 ~ Constellation
Font for name is Kashmir found HERE
 
* * * * *
 
1.  Open up a new transparent image 500 x 500 pixels. Flood fill with color #bc2c3f 
Open WSL_mask38, minimize. Layers ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find mask 'n apply.
Merge group. Minimize this masked image for now.
 
2. Open ribbon element84, resize to 600 px. in HEIGHT, then Image Canvas size ~ resize to 500 x 700 px, centered.
Optional: Darken ribbon by using brightness/contrast -20 / 0 respectively.
Add a new raster layer, flood fill white. Move this white background layer below the ribbon element.
Copy the masked layer we made earlier 'n paste as a new layer above the white background.
Use Effects ~ Distortion ~ Twirl ~ 180 degrees.
Optional:  Using Xenoflex2 ~ Constellation ~ use Small Star Constellation setting OR see below:
 
 
 
3.  Select ribbon layer, using magic wand, click inside circular portion of ribbon ~ selections ~ modify ~ expand by 5 pixels.
Open paper 16, copy 'n paste as a new layer
Selections ~ invert ~ delete on keyboard ~ do NOT deselect yet.
Move this paper below the ribbon element on the layers palette.
Open tube of choice ~ resized if needed ~ copy 'n paste as a new layer above the paper layer but below the ribbon layer.
With selection still intact, use the eraser tool (sz 30-50) to erase the bottom portion of the tube, that extends beyond
the BOTTOM of the ribbon circle. Selections ~ none.
Duplicate the tube layer and move this duplicate copy above the ribbon layer on the layer palette.
Again, using eraser tool on duplicate tube layer, erase part of the tube that overlaps the lower portion of the ribbon circle.
D/S the bottommost tube layer and the ribbon layer with your favorite setting or 1/1/45/4 blur color #404040.
 
 
4. Open green element33, resize 85%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above the masked layer.
Image ~ free rotate ~ rotate 60 degrees to left. D/S.
Open flower element41, resize 75%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above the greenery layer.  D/S.
Open element 31, resize 85%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above your flower layer.
D/S.  See reference tag for placement.
 
5. Now customize your tag with added flowers, resized 25 - 50%. Heart element ~ 55%.
D/S each element added.
 
6.  For name, resize element53 ~ 25%. Copy 'n paste as topmost layer.
 D/S & duplicate as many times needed for your name.
Open Kashmir font, minimize, using sz 36 px. foreground nil, background white
Type first letter of name. Center to button (element 53)
Using Effects ~ 3D effects ~ cutout ~ setting:  v2, h2, opacity 42, blur 2.5.
color black (fill with interior color UNchecked).  Apply.
Continue to add each letter of your name to each button.
 
7.  When done adding name, close off white background ~ merge visible
 Choose Crop tool on sidebar then on top tool bar, find 'Snap crop rectangle to'
choose Merged Opaque. Click on center node to apply.
 
Add copyright, URL and watermark.
 
Merge visible and save as a .PNG or open white background and merge all layers flatten and save as a .JPEG

It's my first attempt at a mini-scrap kit from a color challenge by Kim B.

New Tutorial ~ Antique Rose



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
 Image or tube of choice.  I am using the beautiful artwork of Kim Harlow. You can purchase a license to use her art at CILM.

 * * * * *
 
1.   Open the cluster frame ~ resize to 600 px wide. Image ~ canvas size ~ 650 x 600 centered.
Selections ~ select All ~ float ~ defloat ~ modify selection ~ inside/outside feather ~ choose inside ~ amount 2 px.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete on keyboard. Selections ~ none. This is to remove some of the cut off drop shadow.
 Move frame slightly down and to right.
 
2.  Add a new raster layer, flood fill white, move down on layer palette.
Add a new raster layer ~ selections ~ select All ~ open paper 7, copy 'n paste into the selection.
Selections ~ none. Open Vix_mask 403, minimize. Layers ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find mask 'n apply.
Merge group.
 
3. Open element 15, resize 600 px wide. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above mask layer.
Using pick tool (deformation tool) narrow the green element by moving the nodes horizontally inward.
Open ribbon element 18, resize to 500 px wide. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above green element 15.
Move to lower portion (see reference tag).  Using magic wand, select green element 15 layer, click outside of element,
back to ribbon layer, press delete to remove excess ribbon. Selections ~ select none.
D/S with a light setting or 1/1/40/4 blur, color #404040
Using lighten/darken tool, right click and rub cursor over edges of ribbon to darken, making it appear to wrap around element 15.
D/S element 15 ~ 1/1/50/4 blur, color black
 
 
4. Open paper 13 ~ resize to 500 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above mask layer.
Image ~ free rotate ~ 5 degrees to left. D/S 1/1/50/4 blur color black
 
Open pearl element 10, resized to 550 px wide. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above ribbon layer.
Image ~ rotate ~ free rotate ~ 90 degrees to left. Move to left of tag. Duplicate ~ mirror.
D/S each.
 
5. Using selection tool, rectangular selection ~ draw a selection just inside the inner edge of the cluster frame.
Press delete to remove the leaves that extend inside of the frame opening.
Do NOT deselect yet. Open tube of choice ~ resize if needed. Copy 'n paste as a new layer below the cluster frame layer.
Center  tube ~ selections ~ invert ~ press delete to remove excess. Selections ~ none.
Move tube below frame cluster.
 
 6.  Open leaf element 28 ~ resize 25% ~ mirror. Copy 'n paste as a new layer. Move to right of cluster frame.
Move it down on layer palette below cluster frame. Duplicate ~ flip. D/S each.
 
7.  Open alpha letters for your name, resized 20%, copy 'n paste vertically along left of cluster frame.
( see reference tag )  D/S each alpha.
 
  If desired, resize your tag at this point, 90% smartsize, all layers checked.
 
 Add your copyright, URL, and watermark.
 Merge all flatten and save as a .Jpeg or delete white bg, merge visible and save as a Png.
 Voila!

New Tutorial ~ Fall Friends



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.

1.  Open hey diddle diddle blogheader2 frame, resize to 700 px wide. Resize canvas to 700 x 550 px. We will resize smaller later.
Add a new raster layer, flood fill white and move this layer below the frame to better visualize your work.
Using selection tool ~ freehand ~ point-to-point, draw a selection around the open frame on right.
Open Grunge Paper 2 copy 'n paste as a new layer ~ selections invert ~ delete ~ selections none.
Move this paper layer below the frame.
 
2. Open hey diddle diddle divider2, copy 'n paste as a new layer overtop the frame. Move downward.
Open hey diddle diddle divider 1 (stars) copy 'n paste as a new layer above white background. Move upward.
 
3. Add a new raster layer above your white background, Selections ~ select all ~ open Grunge Paper 12
and paste into the selection. Resize this paper layer 90% (all layers UNchecked) Sharpen once.
Using Xenoflex 1 ~ Stain ~ settings ~ 20, 26, 4 color #644b32
D/S with favorite setting.
 
4.  Open Heritage Scroll Paper1, resize 50%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above the star layer.
Free rotate ~ 7 degrees to left. Duplicate ~ merge down ~ D/S 1/1/40/ 5 black
 
5.  Using 2Peas GGs Love Me font, type Capital R, sz 72, anti-alias smooth in fill color black
Center it over scroll paper. Use effect ~ inner bevel ~ bevel 2, width 2, smoothness 2, depth 22, ambience -5, ambience 36
color white, angle 319, intensity 36, elevation 45 D/S as above
Using Change-to-Target tool sz 17, hardness 50, step 10, density 100, thickness 100, opacity 100
change color of this wordart to #9a5322
 
6. Add tubes of choice. D/S 1/1/40/5 black, adding any other elements of choice.
I used the squirrels, notebook and crayons, part of Suzanne Woolcott tubes. D/S each.
Add Heritage eyelet 1 ~ resized 25% ~ copy 'n paste on small inner frame (see reference tag)
Rotate 90 degrees to left. Duplicate and move to opposite side of inner frame.
 
7. Type in fill color black, Fall Friends in Susie's Hand font sz 72.
Convert to raster layer and using EyeCandy 4000 ~ gradient glow ~ in color #9a5322
Opacity 100, glow width 3, soft corners 25%, overal opacity 100%. D/S
 
8. Resize entire tag 85-90% smartsize (all layers checked)
 
 9.  Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name in font 2Peas GG Mix in black, placing on star.
Using change to target tool, change color of name to #9a5322.
 
Merge all flatten as save as a .jpeg or delete white background, merge visible and save as a .png.

New Tutorial ~ I Touch Myself



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:

Yay!!! This is my 50th tutorial. I thought I'd never get here! lol

This tut is written for you all! ♥

 
 * * * * *
 
1.  Open up a new transparent image 625 x 600 pixels and flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, selections ~ select all.
Open Paper 5, copy 'n paste into the selection. Selections ~none.
Open WSL_mask180, minimize. Layers ~ new mask layer ~ from Image ~ find mask and apply. Merge group.
Resize mask layer 105% smart size.

2.  Open gold frame element14, resized 20%. Select All ~ select float, defloat
Add a new raster layer, flood fill with #79103e and change the blend mode to multiply. Selections ~ none.
Back to original gold frame, change hue & saturation to 236, 196 respectively.
Copy Merged 'n paste as a new layer on your working image, moving to lower right side of tag.

3. Click inside of frame you just created with magic wand, modify selection ~ expand by 5.
Add a new raster layer, flood fill with # 79103e. Selections ~ none.
Move this layer below frame and apply Unplugged Tools ~ interlace ~ setting 2,127, 1, 0
D/S the frame layer with favorite setting or 2/2/50/ 4 blur color black

4. Open tube of choice ~ copy 'n paste as a new layer above the color filled layer.
Erase any part of the tube that extends beyond the frame. Duplicate tube.
Move duplicate copy above frame and again erase part of this tube layer
that overlaps the frame on the lower edge.

5. Open element 9, resized 25%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above the frame but below the uppermost tube layer.
Rotate ~ free rotate 90 degrees to left. Using pick tool or deformation tool, stretch the nodes to widen horizontally.
D/S.

6. Open element 9, resized 20% copy 'n paste as a new layer above your masked layer.
Rotate ~ free rotate ~ 10 degrees to left. Adjust Brightness/Contrast of -40, 5 respectively to darken frame.
Using magic wand, click inside this frame, add a new raster layer, flood fill with black or #000000. Selections ~ none.
Move this black layer below the frame. D/S the frame with same setting above.

7. Select uppermost layer on  your layer palette, open font FFF Urban, minimize.
Using foreground nil, fill color# 79103e, sz 8, anti-alias off, type
WHEN I THINK OF YOU I TOUCH MYSELF.
Objects ~ align center to canvas. Convert to raster layer.
Using plugin Mura's Meister ~ copies ~ choose preset ~ tiling ~ standard setting except change tile gap to 2.
Select the black color filled layer, using magic wand, click on this black filled layer ~ selections ~ invert
back to word art layer ~ press delete on keyboard. Selections ~ none.
Move this wordart layer on your layer palette just above the black color filled layer.

8.  Now to customize your tag add fern 20%, yellow flower resized 25% & 35%, pink flower 30%, ivy 20% & butterfly 25%,
and beige ribbon element12 at 20%. Duplicate elements as many times as you desire.
D/S each element added. Whenever rotating an element, sharpen as well.
To brighten the butterfly, use Adjust ~ brightness/contrast ~ Clarify with strength of 3.

9.  Add your copyright, URL, watermark and name.
Merge all flatten and save as a .jpeg or
 Close off white background ~ Merge visible and save as a .png.

New Tutorial ~ Something In Your Mouth



This tutorial is written for those with a working knowledge of PSP.
Supplies Needed:
 I am using Corel PSP X2 version but any version will do.
Tube of choice. I am using the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis. You can purchase a license to use his work at MPT.

Plugins Required:   Xero ~ Moodlight
EyeCandy5 ~ Impact ~ Glass
Mura's Meister ~ Copies
Font for the name is Lindsay Triangles
Font for Nickelback Lyrics is Arial
 
  * * * * *
 
1.  Open the template, press Shift & D. Close the original template.
Delete the credit layer and the small grey rectangle layers.
Duplicate the pink circle layer ~ mirror. Move this duplicate pink circle and place centered inside the large dots layer.
Duplicate this pink circle again. Resize this copy 67% and move this pink circle layer to left lower side of your tag
centering it roughly around small dots bottom left.
Delete the small dots layer now.
 
Choose top left pink circle, selections ~ select all ~ float, defloat, modify ~ smooth 10, 10.
Open paper of choice or paper 30 resized to 600 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer ~ invert selection ~ delete. Select none.
Do all three pink circles same way with a different paper for each.
 
2.  Using EyeCandy5 ~ Impact ~ Glass ~ setting Clear except change the inner shadow opacity and drop shadow opacity to 50 on the basic tab
Apply this effect to all three circle paper layers.
For the top left circle layer only, if using the red paper, change the blend mode of this layer to overlay
and do not delete the pink circle layer beneath it.
Delete the other two pink circle layers.
 
3. Using font Arial, sz 10, alias sharp, foreground nil, fill white, type in Capitals YOU LOOK SO MUCH CUTER WITH SOMETHING IN YOUR MOUTH
Object, align ~ center in canvas ~ convert to raster layer.
Using Mura's Meister ~ Copies ~ tiling angle ~ use standard setting except change tile gap to 2.
Using magic wand, tolerance 10, feather 0, click on black area of large black rectangle.
Selections ~ invert ~ back to wordart you just created ~ press delete ~ selections none.
 
4. Open black frame supplied, copy 'n paste as a new layer over top wordart layer and black rectangle.
Rotate ~ free rotate ~ 5 degrees to left. Place so it frames the black rectangle 'n wordart.
Using Adjust ~ add/remove noise ~ add noise random 45, monochrome checked. Apply.
Sharpen MORE. D/S frame 2/2/50/5 blur color black
 
5.  Choose pink rectangle layer ~ Adjust ~ Brightness/Contrast ~ minus 255/0 to change color to black.
Using magic wand, click on this black rectangle
Open tube of choice ~ resize it 125% smartsize. Copy 'n paste it over selection as a new layer.
Selections ~ invert ~ delete. Select none.
Apply Plugin Xero - Moodlight to tube using standard setting or 128, 30, color black, 255, 5, 0.
Choose the fancy frame layer ~ apply same add noise effect 'n Sharpen MORE. D/S.
 
6. Open frame4 element, copy 'n paste as a new layer above all 3 circle glass layers. D/S
Choose large dot layer on layer palette, use same EyeCandy5 ~ Impact ~ Glass effect as above.
Move this large dot layer above paper element frame 4.
Duplicate ~ mirror. D/S both layers.
 
Note: the large dotted layers are difficult to see on reference tag due to black background*
 
7. Open tube of choice ~ mirror if needed ~ copy 'n paste
Duplicate tube. On duplicate layer ~ adjust blur ~ gaussian blur ~ radius 3
Change blend mode of this layer to soft light or overlay.
D/S the original tube layer ONLY.
 
8.  Now to personalize your tag, resize most elements between 50 - 75%. Add as many flowers and leaves as you wish. (see reference tag)
Rotate some elements with your pick tool or deformation tool. Sharpen whenever resizing or rotating elements.
Erase any stems that may extend beyond your flower cluster.
D/S each with 2/2/50/5 blur color #404040.
Add your name to resized tagelement 3, foreground nil, fill color #2762bb.
 
Resize entire tag at this point if you wish, all layers checked.
 
9. Add your copyright, URL and watermark.
 
 Merge all flatten and save as a .jpeg or delete white bg and merge visible and save as a .png.

Supplies Needed:

1.  Open up a new transparent image 650 x 600 pixels and flood fill white.
Add a new raster layer, flood fill with color #c0d085 or paper of choice.
Open becky_mask042, minimize. Layer ~ New Mask Layer ~ from Image ~ find becky_mask042.
Source luminance checked only. Apply. Merge group.
Duplicate mask layer 2 or 3 times.
 
2.  Open frame oval 2, resize to 500 px. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above all mask layers.
Free rotate 90 degrees to left. To brighten the frame, use Brightness/Contrast of 15, 4 respectively.
D/S frame with a heavier setting or 5/5/55/5 blur, color #404040
 
3.  Using selection tool ~ rectangle ~ draw a selection approx. 550 x 68 px. Add a new raster layer.
Flood fill with same color #c0d085. Selections none.
Using plugin Photo Effex ~ Scanlines ~ use standard setting or 0, 12, 20, 10, 0, 0.
Move this rectangle layer below frame layer and upward to left of tag. Duplicate this layer ~ mirror & flip.
Duplicate this layer and free rotate 90 degrees to left. Move this vertical rectangle to left of frame. (see reference tag)
 D/S all these rectangle layers with a soft setting of 2/2/50/5 blur, color #404040.
 
4.  Open green ribbon 1, resize to 550 px. in height. Mirror. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above all the rectangle layers
but below the frame layer.  D/S.
 
5.  Open Moon Flower ring, resize to 550 px. in height. Copy 'n paste as a new layer.
Image ~ free rotate 45 degrees to left. Sharpen. Using selection tool, draw a selection using freehand selection ~ point-to-point,
around the flower itself. When happy, invert selection and press delete. D/S the flower.
 
6.  Open Flower 1, resize 25%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above your frame. D/S
Open trellis vine, resize 65% ~ mirror ~ copy 'n paste as a new layer below bottommost flower.
Erase any undesired part of vine that extends beyond bottom part of frame. D/S.
Open star dangly, resize to 550 px in height. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above vine layer.
Erase any part of star dangly that extends above the bottommost flower. D/S.
 
7. Open tube of choice. Copy 'n paste as a new layer above frame layer. Duplicate. Move duplicate copy
below frame layer. Erase any portion of tube that extends beyond
lower portion of frame on both tube layers.
Back to original tube layer, duplicate.  On duplicate layer, Adjust ~ blur ~ gaussian blur ~ radius 3.
Change blend mode of this layer to soft light. This effect helps brighten the tube.
D/S the original tube layer ONLY with the shadow checked on a new layer. Erase any undesired dropshadow.
 
8.  Open bright light, resize to 550 px wide. copy 'n paste above tube layers. Move to lower part of tube,
just above frame.
Open feather, resize 18%, copy 'n paste as a new layer above all tube layers.
Mirror feather. Move to right. Duplicate feather ~ resize 75%, mirror and move to right.
 
 
 9.  If you wish to resize tag, do so now using 90% smartsize.
Add your copyright, URL, watermark & name.
For name, foregound nil, background color #8c9858.
Open font, minimize. Using sz 100 px, write name
Image rotate ~ free rotate ~ 10 degrees to left. Convert to raster layer.
Using plugin EyeCandy 4000 ~ gradient glow ~ Setting:
color ~ white ~ slide white bottom slider to middle of scale bar
Choose basic tab ~ glow width 3, soft corners 25, overall opacity 100.
Add D/S 5/5/50/5 blur, #404040.
 
Merge all flatten and save as a .jpeg or delete white bg and merge visible and save as a .png.
